Primary objectives:

Digicel has transformed to become a truly digital Operator.
Primary responsibilities will be:

  • Responsibility of a number of digital services (apps)
  • Delivering World class Digital products
  • Direct Organisational change through delivery of world class apps
  • Drive Digital adoption across the organisation
  • Drive the charge from Telco to Digital operator




Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve targets and drive the business to do the same.
  • Commercialization of products.
  • Lead a number of business units to achieve business objectives of Digitization and revenue growth.
  • Execute multiple app objectives simultaneously.
  • Create and manage best of breed services.
  • Provides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of product development and success.
  • Direct new and existing product development for private label and branded products.
  • Align product lines to core customer segments and enable optionality, tradeoffs, and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with technology teams, UX, other product teams, customer service, analytics and business partners to determine what features to move forward and in what priority order.
  • Ensures the management of life cycle of all products or product lines; including evaluating customer needs, product enhancement, and determining end of life timing and strategy.
  • Compare the company's product to competitors' products to ensure competitive advantage and differentiation.
  • Drive the team from ideation through design, development and implementation
  • Ensure best-practices are maintained at all levels of decision making.
  • Articulate, execute, and deliver on strategically aligned goals at a senior level.
  • Synthesize complex ideas and concepts and communicate them in technical, business, or layman’s terms based on the audience.
  • Synthesize feedback from customers, competitors, and market trends to create business problem statements for new and existing products and services.
  • Work with engineering teams to define and prioritize, and execute flow of feature development.
  • Work closely with cross-functional leadership in execution of the various components of the process to meet and exceed strategic goals.
  • Work closely with both individual contributors and executive leadership to keep teams aligned.
  • Weigh and justify product development decisions between short-term needs and long-term strategic direction.
  • Develop metrics defined to assess the real world impact of projects and initiatives they champion.
  • Drive a culture of innovation by exploring trends, attending relevant conferences and openly exploring business opportunities that align with the corporate strategy.
  • Continuous customer discovery, translating insights to strategy, roadmaps and specs.
  • Implement, manage, and monitor the delivery processes for internally and externally facing product education, demonstrations, training, and documentation
  • Lead the Product team by enabling and enhancing their skills towards the collective goal of defining, developing, and delivering valuable capabilities that solve customer business problems
  • Identify, analyze, evaluate, and champion strategies and initiatives that will deliver top and bottom line growth.
  • Provides direction in the market analysis process for new products/services to determine customer needs, industry direction, competitive product and market positioning and overall product strategy.
  • Understands and communicates the drivers, goals and strategy associated with the product and program portfolio. This includes a deep understanding of the users and business processes that surround the product.




Academic Qualifications and Experience required for position:

  • 10+ years of product management leadership experience.
  • Deep experience in managing apps in one of the following spaces: Streaming, Music, TV+ or content
  • Could be required to travel
  • Needs to be comfortable with constant change: activities and work priorities may change from one day to the next.
  • Located in Kingston, Jamaica
  • Native English speaker, with additional languages (French, Spanish, Dutch) a bonus.
  • Could be required to travel




Functional Skills:

  • Directs and Manages team of Product Managers and Products across all countries.
  • Extensive experience in Product Management
  • Deep experience in managing Streaming, Music, TV or content apps
  • Responsible for creating Executive Committee-level updates to influence decisions about new projects / initiatives
  • Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally while also maintaining a challenger viewpoint in the room
  • Comfortable directing UX and working closely with the software team
  • Conduct detailed assessments of customer use, needs, and gaps.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing priorities, delegating, and influencing.
  • Define and leverage customer insights into excellent agile user stories.
  • Direct hands on experience with writing user stories and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Strong attention to detail that drives the big picture.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides), Slack
  • Managing products that include: Android, iOS, device(s), Web services.
