Primary objective of the job: 

As part of the digital transformation project team for Digicel, this role will own the overall solution architecture ensuring business outcomes are met by the proposed application ecosystem and associated integrations to partner solutions, customer & dealer channels, legacy application and telco network systems & appliances. The IT Architect shall be responsible for functional domains covering Customer, Product, Sales, Service, Resource & Partner and the associated governance to drive adherence to the first principles of Standardisation and Simplification.  



Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engage with prime Transformation vendor and Digicel SME’s to validate and expand the proposed solution architecture, from the Solution overview through to the Low Level Designs
  • Lead architectural design and decision making progress within assigned functional domains
  • Implementation of Digicel IT strategy and delivery of Standardisation across processes, integrations, products and data models
  • Support the migration of customers and products out of the legacy estate
  • Create and deliver the relevant architectural artefacts to support each stage of the transformation programme in collaboration with the vendors and wider Group IT teams
  • Assess and manage the processes and integration assets within assigned functional domains
  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure cross domain integrations are complete and meet the business needs
  • Contributing member of the Transformation Programme’s Technical Design Authority
  • Own the governance applied to solution design, interface specification and subsequent changes from cradle to grave
  • Define the necessary migration architecture / migration support process required to ensure a successful and complete transformation
  • Propose options and solutions for issues and deficiencies encountered during design, build & test phases of the programme
  • Maintain all architecture artefacts within the central architecture repository tool



Academic qualifications and experience required:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
  • Certification in TOGAF or similar Architecture Frameworks
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Solution Architecture, Technical Architecture or Engineering
  • Minimum  three (3) years’ experience in cloud technology covering IaaS/ PaaS & SaaS preferably in a complex Public +  Hybrid model, Azure knowledge preferable
  • Extensive experience working with IT / technology platforms and applications within the Communications Service Provider or closely related industry
