Primary objective of the job: 

To lead and mature the Enterprise infrastructure strategy in Digicel Group by delivering on the current IT Strategy & Roadmap and helping shape the future evolution. Define and drive the transformation of bespoke legacy application architecture to a best in class Cloud enabled enterprise embodying standardization, simplification and governance. Defining the Hybrid environment to ensure Legacy and Cloud co-exist effectively during the transition and maintain the highest levels of availability, security and integrity to all markets. Drive the evolution of the Enterprise Office Infrastructure and tooling to enable a best in class digital employee experience offering for the business


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define and govern the overarching policies for Public/Private/Hybrid Cloud ensuring adherence to industry best practice
  • Design and oversee the implementation of new applications within the Cloud environment working closely with product vendors and internal development teams
  • Ensure architectural adherence to security and business continuity objectives for all Application & Services
  • Collaborate with the operational teams to analyze capacity and performance across the environments and ensure appropriate tooling is in place to proactively monitor and alert
  • Actively engage with cloud provider to develop deep understanding of new capabilities and features and advise on the opportunities these present for the ongoing operational and development teams
  • Actively engage with technical and business owners to drive optimization of their applications and overall cost efficiency in the environment
  • Lead the adoption of industry standards for reference architecture, data models and process definition & automation
  • Pioneers new technologies and standards
  • Maintain overall infrastructure portfolio health and gap analysis that reflects current state and its readiness to contribute to future-state business capabilities
  • Own the Office IT infrastructure strategy to ensure the digital employee experience is best in class seamlessly integrating the users with the application estate

Academic qualifications and experience required for job:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
  • Certification in TOGAF or similar Architecture Frameworks
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Infrastructure Architecture, Solution Architecture, Security Architecture or Engineering
  • Minimum  three (3) years’ experience in cloud technology covering IaaS/ PaaS & SaaS in a complex Public/Private hybrid model
  • MCSA or equivalent expert level certification
  • Extensive experience working with technology platforms and applications within the Communications Service Provider or closely related industry
  • Extensive experience of Office infrastructure and security related considerations
