6 Month Temporary Role

 

Primary objective of the job:

The Human Resources Specialist’s primary function is to effectively support all HR Operational aspects within Digicel with a primary focus on the HR Information System.  In doing so, he/she must understand the needs of the overall business, in order to implement and optimize procedures, systems and practices in all aspects of the employee lifecycle i.e. Communications, Organizational Design, Recruitment, Selection & On-boarding, Compensation & Benefits and Employee Relations.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

HR Information Systems:

  • Manage and maintain the employee database (HRIS) to ensure that all employee data (incl. compensation) is updated.
  • Participate in review of HRIS functionality
  • Lead on automation of HR Processes
  • Take the lead on operationalization of HRIS Modules in the market.
  • Manage the documentation for the process flow of all core HR procedures.

 

HR Operations:

  • Understand all current and future recruitment targets and goals, including resource planning and headcount requirements for Digicel – and the business units which make up Digicel.
  • With support from the relevant departments, offer expert IR, generalist and best practice HR advice to the business.
  • Partner with Senior Leadership Teams and provide expertise and assistance as needed.
  • Build solid and strong rapport with managers, in order to ensure you have a full understanding of the business needs.
  • Be responsible for the elaboration of the people plan and necessary business cases.
  • Collaboratively manage and drive staff engagement and career development initiatives aligned with Group / Regional L&D to deliver on a vibrant and dynamic Digicel culture.
  • Coordinating On-boarding activities for Digicel based employees
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process and collaborate with HR team to ensure the business achieve its Opex budgeted targets.
  • Drafting correspondences as required and maintaining the Digicel HR files
  • Lead digitization of physical HR Files
  • Maintain HR Communications platform for the market

 

HR Reporting and Analysis

  • Responsible for producing key metrics and stats on a monthly basis to report the impact on the business of the following:
  • Headcount and vacation liability report
  • Monthly update of the company’s organization structure
  • Key support in the manpower planning process and the development of headcount forecast to ensure alignment to the business objectives
  • Weekly SMT report of HR Hub Operations activities
  • Employee HR Analytics to make recommendations

 

Compensation

  • In collaboration with Regional HRD and Department Heads, co-ordinate and administer the company’s compensation and benefits programs.
  • Review and processing of monthly payroll and associated local statutory requirements.

 

Academic qualifications and experience required for job: (Minimum)

  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline
  • Qualifications in Information Systems Management would be an asset
  • Minimum 4-5 years HR experience ideally in an multi-national company
  • Must have experience working with HR Information Systems (SAP Success Factors would be an asset).

 

Specialized knowledge, skills and training Required: (Minimum)

  • Sound working knowledge of HR Operations
  • Exceptional analytical ability
  • Excellent attention to detail required
  • Knowledge of manpower and budget planning
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in the consistent administration of policies and procedures to ensure a positive working environment is maintained.
  • Display high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to be flexible and respond to a variety of issues in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Advance working knowledge of MC Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
