JOB TITLE:
IP Engineer
Primary Objective of the Job :
Responsible for the design, planning and operations of all IP based local and Wide area networks which support the GSM/4G and ICT services and operations of the Digicel networks in St Lucia, St Vincent, Grenada and Dominica.
Main Duties and Responsibilities (maximum cf.-8);
- Responsible for the implementation and maintaining of all new IP based system nodes.
- Ensure effcient operation & maintenance. pf all IP based services including policy management, IP traffic management and routing policies.
- Configuring of ASA firewalls, checkpoint Firewalls and Juniper Firewalls
- Configuring of Cisgo Routers and Switches catalysts ISR and ASR series routers.
- Performsnet work maintenance duties as required (i.e. LOS upgrades, switch, router and load balancing installations, maintain firewalls).
- Conducts training sessions and disseminates knowledge on new technologies new concepts to the rest of the team.
- Documentation of network topologies
- Diagnose and resolve compkex networking involving multiple technology domains
- Responsible for operational, capacity and performance monitoring of all IP network nodes and interfaces, including KPI configuration on monitoring systems.
- Monitor capacity and performance of IP links, identify issues and take necessary corrective action. Trend long-term capacity utilization to support long-term capacity planning
- Perfoming routine maintenance and inventory management procedures including, resiliency testing and updates to Group inventory management databases.
- Support ICT team in design and implementation of Customer network solutions.
Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
- 3‑5 years’ experience in IP‑based network design, implementation & administration on Cisco and/or Juniper platforms.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
- CCNA required CCNP and/or C.CNP Service Provider desirable.
- JNCIA certification a plus.
- Strong Data and Voice network design knowledge.
- Experience with firewalls, converged network architecture and VoIP
- In-depth knowledge of Routing, MPLS, QoS, OSPF, IPv6 and BGP.
