Primary objective of the job: 

As part of the digital transformation project team for Digicel, this role will be responsible for hands-on technical implementation, setup and configuration of new BSS/OSS solution and working as first line support for resolving escalated issues as well as being the technical point of contact for the customer in BSS implementation projects. Also responsibility for the definition and delivery of provisioning, activation and fulfilment of IT services required for consolidated billing.  The successful candidate will work as part of an application specific support team with responsibility for providing frontline end user and technical support for users of commercial “off-the-shelf” or in-house developed applications within Digicel across all Markets. He/She will be responsible for liaising with 3rd party vendors for support, patch management, upgrades or configuration change to these systems. Additionally, he/she will be responsible for ensuring that proper change management and system administration best practices are implemented and adhered to.



Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as technical expert for Online Charging System, CRM and the Billing systems, ensuring technical quality of deliveries based on the scope and requirements.
  • BSS Software loading, configuration, integration, verification, and troubleshooting of new BSS/OSS solutions across the different Digicel markets or in a lab/test environment using a variety of BSS products and packages.
  • Provide ongoing support to the implementation team and business support throughout implementation.
  • Lead the investigation and isolation of unique and challenging problems, collaborating with product development teams and other support groups to devise a plan for resolution that meets the customer's needs.
  • Investigates user problems and needs, identify their source, and determine possible solutions
  • Participates in the development, implementation, installation, and testing of applications software
  • Responsible for understanding the application including designing, building, and configuring the application (may be responsible for more than one application)
  • Provides 3rd level application specific support once application is in production
  • Works closely with other teams and departments to make appropriate business and application integration decisions
  • Documentation of Application specific procedures and processes
  • Expected to be knowledgeable on product limitations and planned development efforts, be able to assist in development of proposed "work-arounds" for product limitations
  • Familiarity with and adheres to standard concepts, practices, and procedures, including quality control
  • Supports SDLC, Configuration, Change Request and Problem Management operations and guidelines



Academic qualifications and experience required:

  • First/Associate Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related field
  • 5 + years experience in an environment with OSS/BSS
  • Application integration (via APIs) skills



Functional skills and abilities:

  • Understanding of entire end-to-end process for order to cash process
  • Understanding of IT provisioning and fulfilment systems, including work force management, network inventory, incident management within HSD, Voice and Television.
  • Strong knowledge of the process requirements for an OSS/BSS to successfully deliver a fixed service including workforce management (WFM) and truck roles
  • Strong process definition skills.
  • Excellent communications skills and relationship management skills.
  • Shell scripting, SQL, Software programming skills
  • Knowledge of UNIX and Linux
