Primary Objective of the Job:

The BI Analyst position is established within the Commercial Function to correctly measure, thoroughly analyze and manage the company’s financial intelligence needs to support business and strategic decisions. The role is required to continuously track and produce analyzed reports on the macro and micro activities affecting Revenues, ARPU, Collections, Sales/ Acquisition, Costs and all aspects of the performance of the business products and services.


To use customer level data to:

  • Drive a better understanding of our customer behaviour and communicate to our Commercial and Marketing teams this understanding and potential uses for gain
  • Stimulate customers to increase usage, to stay with us for longer and to reduce inactivity and churn

Main duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define periodic and ad-hoc reports from internal data and ensure that they are created in a timely manner with the correct information
  • Assist in the development of business cases, pricing models and financial evaluations with the Financial and Commercial Analysts in the Jamaica teams
  • To actively participate with the Products Team to define new campaigns, target audience and potential new offers based current product offerings and performance of current and past campaigns
  • Perform in-depth statistical analysis, interpret results, and make commercial recommendations where the evaluation shows trends, detrimental impact to or opportunities for the business.
  • To identifying process improvements, efficiencies and learning’s
  • Build solid relationships with key internal stakeholders: Data Warehouse owners and internal customers in the Jamaican and Group management teams

Academic qualification and experience required for the job:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science/Computing (or equivalent professional qualification).
  • 2+ years relevant experience in a numerical, analytical role
  • Experience working within a competitive, high volume, data rich, commercial environment: telecommunications, utilities, banking, retail catalogs, government data
  • Degree in either mathematical/accountancy discipline with proven commercial work experience or a business/marketing discipline with proven mathematical content

Knowledge Skills and Attitude required for the job:

  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to articulate progress, issues and recommendations in a concise summarized manner
  • “Can-do”, positive attitude with a mind to always quantifying what their contribution to the work is worth
  • Ability to work in a team environment and on own initiative with the desire to learn new skills
  • High levels of expertise with PC applications especially Excel, PowerPoint & Word
  • Evidence of using: SAS, SPSS, R, MATLAB, MathCad, Maple or similar
  • Working knowledge of Access, SQL, Power BI or Tableau
  • Dashboard and automated report creation
  • Ability to work on own initiative, under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Numeracy: candidate needs to be very comfortable dealing with statistical data
  • Superb attention to detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to deliver results to tight deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic environment
