Primary objective of the job: 



The position holder will lead the Business Solutions category across 25 markets. The individual will need to possess a combination of Commercial, Contracting, Project Management and Procurement domain knowledge and experience. The role holder will need to think as an entrepreneur in creating commercial opportunities, leveraging market knowledge and working as a true business partner in problem solving and leading commercial deals. Confident working within a fast paced, action orientated setting, the position holder will partner with vendors in complex, multi-million dollar and multi-year agreements in delivering value for Digicel and it’s customers.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Maximise value for money, own key stakeholder and vendor relationships for the Business Solutions Category where total ICT expenditure across the group, is approximately $27m+per annum. Drive the expected ICT savings outcome of the of the IT cost reduction programme (circa 1m$)
  • Own the creation and execution of the overall Category Plan and engagement with the Business Solutions group function and local markets, to deliver the best business outcomes for Digicel and its customers
  • Engage with the broader Digicel Procurement community, delivering process and governance improvements
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to develop forecast, plan, review and adjust procurement strategy in support of company stakeholders
  • Continuous interactions with internal stakeholders to develop savings programs that help achieve and exceed the yearly budgets
  • Manage aggregation of demand to leverage Digicel’s scale and scope
  • Develop deep supplier relationships, driving better access to higher quality commercial outcomes, category innovation opportunities along with flexibility and reliability
  • Develop terms and conditions for supplier agreements in support of market needs, analyze, determine and stipulate flow-down and flow-up terms and conditions between markets and supplier agreements when procuring goods and services
  • Apply government requirements; understand the use of government regulations as they apply to procurement and contracting processes
  • Maintain effective and relevant import/export activities and support in relation to the category purchasing and distribution requirements
  • Communicate with import/export related authorities, internal and external customers in all relevant territories, as necessary to ensure efficient, positive and lawful relations and support
  • Engage with direct reports and wider Procurement team to enhance overall skill level, team effectiveness and build/maintain individual development plans as appropriate
  • Liaise with Director of Group Procurement and other members of the Procurement leadership team to deliver the wider Procurement transformation agenda

 

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience within a Procurement environment. Experience of working within an international procurement team will be an advantage
  • A technical background would be valuable but not essential (Knowledge of Mobile & Fixed networks and Business Solutions)
  • Managed large CAPEX/ OPEX 3rd party relationships, strong Vendor and contract management skills
  • Ability to work in large cross functional virtual teams in cross cultural environments across the Procurement lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Procurement/Supply Chain systems, processes, best practice, policies and standards
