Primary Objective of the job:

  • Responsible for driving the revenue for key product line(s) assigned including but not limited to mobile data. 

  • Monitoring of business KPIs such as usage, revenue and customer behavior to ensure the business achieves its targets.  

  • Work with Business analysts to ensure that KPIs, reporting and customer profile information informs daily decisions on product line 

  • Drive revenue by developing and fostering new promotions and pricing strategies.  

  • To drive the business ensuring that all department strategies are defined and aligned to the business goals and are executed efficiently. 

Main duties and responsibilities:

 

 

  • Champion mobile data ensuring all systems and initiatives implemented assist in meeting business requirements and targets. 

  • Ensure all product and service revenue streams are well-defined and executed to ensure KPIs are met or exceeded through their life-cycle. 

  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure integration of product/service strategy and follow through within agreed timeframe across key functional areas: Technical, Sales, Marketing, Customer Care and CVM etc. 

  • Monitor market trends and industry developments and proactively recommend portfolio enhancements towards developing products that are customer focused, useable and relevant. 

  • Collection and analysis of competitive information, providing regular updates on competitive products and promotions, pricing, messaging and positioning. 

  • Look at new areas of development to drive key revenue stream such as mobile data. 

  • Write strategic proposals, project reports and documentation for new, modified or existing services. 

  • Develop and ensure proper structure exists for data analysis and reporting for Operations. 

  • Manage and work closely with business analyst to produce relevant and meaningful reports on activations, revenue, and usage and customer profiles for the key revenue streams. 

  • Ensure that all projects are well defined against agreed standards and that the project scopes, goals, deliverables, resources, budgets and timelines are agreed and understood by all stakeholders and sponsors. 

  • Work with project stakeholders to define work breakdown structures and provide a project schedule to identify project timelines with actions and deliverable. 

  • Ensure all assigned actions are completed on-time, correctly and deadlines are met 

  • Ensure timely and regular communication to stakeholders and SMT on project activities. 

  • Ensure successful product/service launches as necessary  

  • Present to the SMT as required by the Operations Director 

  • Manage vendor reconciliation and settlement process where necessary. 

  • Develop programs and initiatives that will improve the customer experience, reduce costs, and drive product improvements within the business. 

  • Liaise with key departments to ensure that all systems and processes work efficiently to deliver on business requirements, assisting where necessary to correct issues & inefficiencies.  

  • Develop and carefully manage Operation’s budgets ensuring strategic spend towards development and/or improvement of the business. 

Academic qualifications and experience required for the job:

 

  • Minimum of a First (1st) degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or Science (or equivalent professional qualification). MBA or second degree a plus. 

  • 5 years Commercial experience for a telecom provider working in a revenue generating or product type role. 

  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail 

  • Ability to interface & influence key areas of the business and take full ownership and responsibility for key product area.  

  • Sound knowledge of budget and business case preparation as well as financial analysis 

  • Strong project management experience (or qualifications)

  • Solid Commercial knowledge of telecommunications products and technologies.  

  • Full knowledge and understanding of the various products and services offered by the Company. 

  • Full knowledge and understanding of the systems used by the Company to deliver services. 

  • Project management experience and experience in implementing complex projects and processes across cross-functional teams
