Job Title: Senior Data Center Services Engineer 

Primary objective of the job: 

Deliver a variety of technical services and operational support that is required to provide a highly reliable datacenter environment across multiple general facilities. This complex and dynamic datacenter operates 24x7 and is the foundation from which our business operates. This includes performing and / or supervising facility and plant maintenance, as well as meeting all program maintenance reporting requirements and deadlines. Cost effective fielding of special projects are also included

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

  • Datacenter Planning, Resource management, and Optimization (Space, Power, and Cooling)
  • Schedule, plan and supervise Routine Power Down Tests/Datacenter audits/Inspections
  • Drive continuous review and improvements across all operations processes
  • Root cause analysis for incident and failure management
  • Full life cycle asset management
  • M&E Infrastructure deployment planning and implementations within the datacenter
  • Ensure M&E maintenance schedules within the Datacenter are to best industry standards
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Datacenter M&E capabilities
  • Identify and specify plant upgrade and/or remediation projects
  • Produce and review tender specifications and contracts for project works

 

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Create and implement cost saving projects, with relation to facility maintenance.
  • Obtain vendor proposals for Plant maintenance projects and repairs.

 

Operational Management

  • Responsible for the day to day mechanical and electrical operations in the Datacenter.  Address any emergency maintenance facility issues by performing and/or coordinating repair efforts.
  • Maintain Facility well-being and general appearance.
  • Interface with HVAC, Emergency back-up and Power vendors.
  • Prepare and maintain a Program maintenance program for all facility power and HVAC plant.
  • Run and test multiple emergency power standby generators.
  • Environmental monitoring (Power, Cooling, Fire sup, Water, Access Temp etc.). Measure and monitor facility and customer power consumption.

 

 

Academic qualifications and experience required:

  • BA/ BS, mechanical or electrical engineering certification/qualifications
  • Must have ceertification in data mining and data operations 
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role plus appropriate mechanical or electrical engineering certification/qualifications preferred
