Data Migration Analyst (Temporary)

 

Primary objective of the job: 

 

Design, build and test data migration programs from legacy finance systems. Analyse and correct migration and mapping issues encountered during migration.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • In depth know end to end know of the data migration processes both technically and functionally.
  • Experience of the data mapping, able to lead and facilitate mapping process from various legacy system with both business and technical team across multiple source systems and data structures.
  • Experience of documenting conversions, business rules and functional requirements within a migration mapping template.
  • Able to work with technical teams and support the development of migration scripts being developed to enable the data migration of master and transactional data objects.
  • Familiarity of migration remediation’s processes and issue handling around formal testing cycles (SIT, E2E, UAT)  and test data loading cycles.
  • Good understanding of data validation and data validation principles. Able to facilitate business workshops on data validation, that is, teach and train business users these concept’s and best practices as it relates to their organisation.
  • Familiar with data load process to ERP’s (Workday EIB would be a distinct advantage) error reporting and exception handling experience.
  • Individuals with either Workday Certification, an understanding of Workday financials or that have an accounting background within the context of data migration will have a distinct advantage.
  • Good understanding of the data cleansing processes across the Q2C, S2P and Asset data.
  • Candidates with knowledge of Great Planes, QuickBooks, Workday Financials, and Adaptive would be at an advantage.
  • Clear and confident communicator with good written and oral communication abilities. Ability to explain data migration process, concepts and activities to lay persons in a non-technical, clear and concise way.

 

Academic qualifications and experience required:

 

  •  Degree or equivalent
  • Programming qualification
  • Accountancy qualification
  • Demonstrable experience of data migration and/or integration development preferably relating to financial (ERP) systems
  • Experience of SQL Server
  • Demonstrable experience of SQL and ETL products
  • Demonstrable experience of Microsoft Azure platforms or simi
  • Experience of integration activities on an ERP implementation, preferably SaaS (cloud)
  • Knowledge / Experience of billing systems
  • Knowledge / Experience of Telecoms Finance
  • Experience of MS Great Plains or Dynamics AX
  • Experience of NetSuite
  • Experience of QuickBooks
  • DevOps experience
