Primary objective of the job: 

As part of the digital transformation project team for Digicel, this role will support the data analysist and migration from legacy system to new BSS/OSS system.  You will be expected to perform as the key representative for the organization in the pursuit and execution of transformation related to BSS.  Belonging to a team comprising of other members of the business to convert legacy solution data for use in driving the future BSS stack. You should be able to contribute to multiple levels of the relevant technical engagements including an initial technical overview, assessment of the data and design, deployment, configuration, and optimization of both the migration plan and either or both of the database and the migration tools and scripts.

 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participating in reviews and providing input and supporting during the development of migration plan
  • Working with the Solution Architects and Project/Programme Manager to define the migration process
  • Assisting the Migration in writing any needed method or procedure or code
  • Stewarding any custom tooling being created for data migration
  • Investigating quality and readiness of the data for migration between the legacy system to the new BSS/OSS and ensuring all the stakeholders have approve the data quality.
  • Ensure the delivery of the solutions conforms to contractual outcomes and timescales
  • Support the Programme and Project Manager in project planning, risk and issue management, and the budgeting process
  • Work with partners to manage the performance and capacity of the technical domain.
  • Build and manage the excellent working relationships with our partners and developing this to meet our current and future needs.
  • Contribute to define of technical requirement specifications.
  • Ensure the delivery of the solutions conforms to the functional requirements defined.
  • Support the Programme and Project Manager in project planning, risk and issue management, and the delivery of projects.
  • Work with partners to manage the performance and capacity of the technical domain
  • Build and manage the excellent working relationship with our partners and developing this to meet our current and future needs

 

 

Qualifications, knowledge & experience:

  • BSc. Computer Science / Information Technology and/or Oracle DBA/PL-SQL Certification
  • Strong working knowledge with at least 2 years’ experience in
  • SQL and  PL/SQL
  • Oracle 10g and 11g, 12c databases
  • Knowledge of UNIX Systems and shell scripting.
  • Core database concepts:
    • Database design
    • Design and Understand Data Flow and Entity Relationship Diagrams
    • Basic Data Warehousing concepts and methodologies

Knowledge and Understanding of:

  • Data warehousing and data modeling techniques within Oracle environments.
  • Extract, Transformation, and Load (ETL) tools.

Candidate must have:

Functional skills and abilities:

  • Understanding of entire end-to-end process for order to cash process
  • Understanding of IT provisioning and fulfilment systems, including work force management, network inventory, incident management within HSD, Voice and Television.
  • Strong knowledge of the process requirements for an OSS/BSS to successfully deliver a fixed service including workforce management (WFM) and truck roles
  • Demonstrates specialist knowledge required for the role including relevant standards, regulations, frameworks, technologies, and processes. Will be able to demonstrate implementing and making recommendations for improvements that are in line with strategies.
  • Ability to make decisions, problem-solve, work and collaborate within teams. Can demonstrate flexibility and agility to move between role types within teams. Understands relationships within those teams and their key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates a keen interest and drive in self-development and learning, is open to feedback, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Ability to contribute to operational plans within their area that puts the customer experience first. Domain-specific knowledge & experience.
