Primary objective of the job:
Digicel is undergoing a bold transformation, and this role plays a central part in how we shape, protect and advance the company’s reputation, brand and customer engagement across 25 markets.
The role is responsible for leading the development and execution of an integrated communications, marketing and public affairs strategy that strengthens Digicel’s position with customers, governments, regulators, partners, investors and employees.
Spanning B2B marketing, corporate communications, brand positioning and stakeholder strategy, the role combines strategic leadership with strong execution capability. It requires a deep understanding of enterprise positioning, customer engagement, market dynamics and modern brand strategy to ensure all activity is insight-led, commercially aligned and executed to a consistently high standard.
As deputy to the Chief External Affairs & Communications Officer, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the function and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.
You will play a key role in elevating Digicel’s brand and creative standards, strengthening stakeholder engagement, safeguarding the company’s reputation, supporting business growth and driving greater consistency and impact across all markets.
The role also carries responsibility for raising the quality of execution across the organisation, ensuring strategy is effectively translated into communications, stakeholder engagement, enterprise positioning and measurable business outcomes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Brand, Communications & Enterprise Positioning
- Lead Digicel’s integrated communications and B2B marketing strategy across all markets, ensuring alignment with business priorities, enterprise positioning and brand strategy
- Drive the strategic evolution of Digicel Business positioning, supporting one of the company’s most important growth engines through clear market positioning, thought leadership and customer engagement
- Lead and elevate Digicel’s agency ecosystem, ensuring agency partners operate as high-performing strategic and creative extensions of the business, capable not only of developing vision and campaigns, but driving executional excellence across all markets
- Raise the standard of creative output, campaign execution and storytelling across the organisation, ensuring work is commercially effective, culturally relevant and reflective of a modern, world-class telecommunications brand
- Partner closely with Commercial, Enterprise and Market CEOs to align communications, enterprise positioning and stakeholder engagement with broader business priorities and long-term growth objectives
- Lead the development of compelling narratives and visual communications including board presentations, leadership messaging, campaigns, customer presentations and strategic materials across internal and external audiences
- Ensure consistent brand standards, messaging discipline and integrated storytelling across corporate, enterprise and leadership communications channels
ESG & Sustainability
- Support the development and communication of Digicel’s ESG and sustainability strategy and annual report, aligned to business priorities and investor expectations
- Lead the articulation of Digicel’s sustainability narrative, ensuring clear, credible and consistent messaging across all audiences
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support ESG reporting, including investor-ready sustainability reports and disclosures
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of ESG data and messaging, strengthening transparency and trust
- Support engagement with key stakeholders on ESG topics, including investors, regulators, partners and employees
- Embed sustainability into the broader company narrative and internal communications
Crisis Communications & Reputation Management
- Support the development and execution of the Group’s crisis communications framework in alignment with BCM
- Provide direction during sensitive or high-risk issues, ensuring clear, timely and controlled communication
- Proactively identify and manage reputational risk
Internal Communications & Culture
- Lead the development and execution of Digicel’s internal communications strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and transformation goals
- Partner closely with HR to support and drive a culture reset, embedding company values, behaviours and leadership messaging across the organisation
- Oversee key internal communications channels and initiatives, ensuring consistent, clear and engaging communication with employees across all markets
- Strengthen leadership visibility and engagement through structured platforms (e.g. Town Halls, DIGIcast and leadership sessions)
- Use employee insights and feedback (e.g. surveys, eNPS) to continuously refine communication approaches and strengthen engagement
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- 10–12 years’ experience in corporate communications, public affairs, brand or related fields, with a proven track record of leading high-impact communications in complex environments
- Strong understanding of brand, marketing and design principles
- Experience supporting senior leadership, with the ability to advise on positioning, stakeholder engagement and reputation management
- Strong understanding of public affairs, regulatory environments and stakeholder engagement
- A sharp editorial eye with the ability to maintain high standards across all outputs, ensuring clarity, consistency and impact
- Strong operational discipline with the ability to manage complexity, prioritise effectively and drive execution across multiple stakeholders
- Strong understanding of digital, social media and thought leadership platforms, including executive profiling and brand visibility
- Composed under pressure, with sound judgment and a strong bias for action
