Primary objective of the job: 
 

The Electro-Mechanical Manager is responsible for the designing and engineering of all electromechanical systems. These systems includes: generators, utility point entrance, transfer switches, power distribution systems, grounding, transient voltage suppression, lightening arrestors, emergency lighting systems, HVAC and related facilities infrastructure in the switch sites, datacenters, head ends, landing stations and shelters across all Digicel Markets. The individual will works actively in projects related to stabilization, improvement, and upgrade of existing electromechanical infrastructure.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure the effective Preventative and Corrective Maintenance of all electromechanical equipment across the business
  • Provides second level operations support to all markets during related system issues and attempts to resolve remotely or on site
  • Assess new developments in standards, keeping pace with changes in technology to determine suitability to the current and future needs of department
  • Assess current systems and make the necessary recommendations and actions to ensure constant support of network (EOL, EOS, SHEQ, ESG, Legal & Regulatory)
  • Future proof electromechanical systems, existing and proposed, to ensure forward compatibility
  • Manage electromechanical systems, remote operation and on-site, audit of electromechanical systems for all Digicel markets in Caribbean & Central America
  • Develop and ensure service quality, legal & regulatory, life cycle, and ESG metrics are maintained
  • Faults are acknowledged and actioned within SLA

 

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in telecommunication industry
  • 4 years in the operations and/or engineering in a telecommunications environment
  • 2 years as an electromechanical specialist in a telecommunications environment
  • Hands on experience with main power generator brands, FG Wilson, SDMO, CAT, Cummins
  • Hands on experience with main HVAC systems brands, Stultz, APC/Schneider, Liebert/Vertiv, Huawei
  • Project Management

 

Functional Skills:

 

  • Significant experience with large scale and complex projects
  • Possess a high-level of technical expertise
  • Strong organizational skills and be able to learn and define technical processes and procedures
  • Plan, provide analysis, design and implement technical solutions in the Facilities & Environment area
  • Equipment evaluation and selection process
  • Fault management and functional integration/operation of the NOC
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communicational skills
  • Analytical and open minded
  • Ability to implement new processes to improve network efficiency
  • Microsoft Office suite skills, functional to expert level required
