Job Title: Field Technology Engineer
Primary objective of the job:
- The H&E Field Engineer is responsible for the high-quality delivery of the FTTH-GPON and LTE TDD services to residential and business customers.
- This requires a heavy field presence and supervision of our suppliers/contractors to ensure they meet the company standard outlined the perfect installation manual for installation and fault repairs activities.
Main Duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct quality control checks on technician’s work and document any deviations
- Audit/inspect installations and fault repairs jobs according to the perfect install quality manual.
- Make continuous recommendations and suggestions for additional quality improvement and installation efficiencies
- Deliver professional and concise customer education
- Perform in-house fault repairs for residential and business customers
- Perform Site Surveys as requested
- Analyses material performance and makes recommendation as needed.
- Expect to access both overhead and underground network infrastructure.
- General Field Surveillance of area with high fault rate to reduce faults.
- Produce monthly status reports
- Expect to perform testing of fibre utilizing, Power Meter and various other testing equipment
- Performs and/or manages special projects as assigned.
- Assume additional responsibilities as necessary
- Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to regulations and policies of the company
- Possess a valid driver’s license and meet the company’s insurance carrier’s criteria for coverage under the company’s insurance policy
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicle
Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
- Associate degree or an equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronics or Engineering
- 3-5 years of experience of delivering In-Premises services to homes or businesses
- Experience in customer facing environment, preferably from the telecoms industry
- Ability to work alone as well as in a strong team environment
- Knowledge of the standards, materials, techniques and equipment used in service installation
