Primary objective of the job: 

The Group Communications Manager plays a key role in supporting the delivery of Digicel's corporate communications strategy to advance goals and strengthen its brand reputation. As part of the Group Communications team, the role supports both the execution of Group-wide communications initiatives and providing communications guidance and support to teams across Digicel's 25 markets.

 

This is a hands-on role requiring strong writing, editorial and project management skills. The successful candidate will support the planning, development and delivery of internal and external communication, strengthen Digicel's external profile, and uphold brand standards across all communication platforms.

 

The role requires a strong understanding of corporate communications, media relations, digital communications, content development and internal communications, with the ability to translate business priorities into clear, compelling and engaging key stakeholders communications for a range of audiences.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Internal Communications

 

  • Manage the development and execution of internal communications initiatives that help engage employees across all markets
  • Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of key employee engagement initiatives, including Town Halls, DIGIcast, Coffee & Conversations and others.
  • Manage the weekly Staff Bulletin, coordinating content from departments across the Group and ensuring timely publication
  • Partner with HR to develop communications that support business priorities, strengthen culture and drive employee engagement
  • Work with the Senior Group B2B Marketing Manager to identify and draft the contented for the DB Connect newsletter, issued to B2B staff every 2 months.
  • Review and edit departmental communications to ensure clarity and alignment with Digicel's tone of voice and brand standards

 

Media Relations & External Communications

 

  • Draft group-wide press releases, media statements, executive messaging, speeches, Q&As and other external communications materials
  • Support media relations activities, including coordinating interviews and maintaining media contact databases
  • Assist in the development and execution of communications plans supporting corporate announcements, partnerships, events and business initiatives
  • Support crisis communications activities as required, including message development, stakeholder coordination and media monitoring
  • Support local teams where needed with reviewing their media statements and other communication needs

 

Digital & Social Media Management

 

  • Lead the content strategy and day-to-day management of the Digicel Group and Digicel Business LinkedIn channels, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities, brand positioning and thought leadership objectives
  • Identify, develop and curate engaging content in partnership with stakeholders across the business, translating key initiatives, milestones and business priorities into compelling digital stories
  • Manage content planning, editorial calendars, copywriting, publishing and community engagement across both channels
  • Monitor channel performance, audience growth and engagement metrics, providing regular insights and recommendations to optimise content effectiveness and strengthen brand visibility
  • Support the development and amplification of executive and corporate thought leadership content to enhance Digicel's reputation and industry positioning
  • Ensure all social content adheres to brand standards, messaging frameworks and communications objectives

 

Corporate Website

 

  • Conduct regular audits of the corporate website to identify outdated content, broken links and opportunities for improvement
  • Manage content for the corporate website including SLT and Board bios and photos, press releases and ESG related materials

 

Content Development & Brand Support

 

  • Ensure all communications adhere to Digicel's brand standards, messaging framework and editorial guidelines
  • Assist in the creation of presentations, one-pagers, newsletters, executive briefings and communication materials
  • Support thought leadership initiatives by developing content for executives and subject matter experts
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external agencies to develop content that supports corporate, ESG and Digicel Business priorities

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

 

  • Act as a central point of coordination between Group Communications and departments across the business
  • Build strong relationships with Group HR, Group Digital, Group Compliance and Group Security teams to identify communications opportunities and support business objectives
  • Maintain communications resources including content calendars, templates, style guides, messaging frameworks and shared content repositories
  • Support communications activities for key Group initiatives, campaigns and strategic projects as required

 

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 5 years’ experience in communications, public relations and digital content development
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills, with a strong grasp of tone, clarity, and structure
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn and basic social publishing tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprinklr, or native platforms)
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple work streams, and a collaborative, proactive approach
