Primary objective of the job: 

  • Be responsible for the development of Procurement function to maximise value for money and achieve legislation compliance through the support and development of best practice across the market
  • Strategic sourcing, contract management, tactical purchasing, administrative buying, local content, e-procurement, cost modelling, supplier relations management (SRM), off-shoring of transactional activities
  • Own the Group Procurement, Supply Chain and Real Estate Strategy and leverage to drive Market level profitability and risk management

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain dashboard for all markets to have clear visibility of current status on Procurement savings and inventory
  • Materials management, production & capacity planning, inventory & demand management, forecasting and planning processes, and systems implementation, warehousing & logistics, customer service, after market & reverse supply chain management
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to develop forecast, plan, review and adjust procurement strategy in support of company stakeholders and use requirements
  • Continuous interactions with internal stakeholders to develop savings programs that help achieve the yearly budgets
  • Develop deep supplier relationships, driving better access to higher quality, along with flexibility and reliability
  • Advise internal stakeholder’s requirements for commodities, demonstrate understanding of multiple commodity strategies and core supplier requirements, develop supplier agreements which integrate multiple commodities, and deliver integrated solutions under a single agreement
  • Develop terms and conditions for supplier agreements in support of market needs, analyze, determine and stipulate flow-down and flow-up terms and conditions between markets and supplier agreements when procuring goods and services
  • Apply government requirements; understand the use of government regulations as they apply to procurement and contracting processes
  • Maintain effective and relevant import/export activities and support in relation to the organization’s purchasing and distribution requirements
  • Communicate with import/export related authorities, internal and external customers in all relevant territories, as necessary to ensure efficient, positive and lawful relations and support

 

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • 10 years’ experience in a Procurement of Commercial environment, with at least 2 years in a senior management role
  • Managed large CAPEX/ OPEX budgets, strong Vendor Management skills
  • Telecommunications experience and/or emerging markets experience is desirable
  • Staff management experience is essential
  • Knowledge of Supply Management Software (Database Management, Inventory Management, Financial Analysis

  • Ability to make excellent presentations of the financial results to the senior management team, Board of Directors and Shareholders
  • Previous/Current international experience will be an advantage as would experience working in a shared services environment
