Primary Objective of the Job

 

The Group Postpaid Portfolio Manager is responsible for simplifying and optimizing ATL and BTL offerings across all 25 markets to align with customer needs and business objectives. This involves developing a customer-centric framework, sharing best-practice, conducting portfolio audits to maximize profitability, and collaborating with marketing and sales teams for seamless implementation. The role includes monitoring the impact of portfolio changes on customer adoption, satisfaction, and revenue, ensuring a streamlined Postpaid portfolio that enhances operational efficiency. Additionally, the manager provides strategic pricing guidance to maintain competitiveness, designs tiered pricing strategies for diverse segments, and leads the rationalization of legacy plans to transition customers to improved offerings.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Develop a simplified, customer-centric Portfolio framework that balances customer needs, profitability and ease of understanding for both customers and internal stakeholder
  • Conduct regular audits of the ATL and BTL portfolio to maximize profitability and inefficiencies – overlapping offers, and underperforming products
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to ensure seamless integration and clear communication of the streamlined portfolio
  • Monitor the impact of portfolio changes on customer adoption, satisfaction, and revenue growth, making data-led adjustments as needed
  • Conduct market analyses to benchmark pricing against competitors while considering customer willingness to pay and perceived value
  • Develop tiered pricing strategies that cater to diverse customer segments, including high-value, mid-tier, and budget-conscious consumers
  • Offer guidance on promotional pricing and bundling opportunities to maximize uptake and cross-sell potential
  • Work closely with financial teams to evaluate the profitability and sustainability of proposed pricing models, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Analyze the performance and customer base of legacy plans to identify those with declining relevance or profitability and remove from portfolio
  • Design and implement migration strategies to transition customers to newer, more aligned offerings, ensuring minimal disruption to their experience
  • Work with customer support and communication teams to clearly articulate the benefits of moving to updated plans
  • Evaluate the impact of plan rationalization on churn, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency, making iterative improvements as needed

 

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required

 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in telecommunications, particularly Postpaid models
  • Strong experience in commercial strategy/frameworks and execution, portfolio management, pricing strategies, customer value management and telco growth
