Primary objective of the job:
The PMO Manager is responsible for ensuring effective project governance, reporting, and delivery oversight across the Group Technology portfolio. This role provides critical support to the Technology Management team, ensuring projects adhere to standard methodologies, timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements. The PMO Manager acts as a central coordination point for project delivery teams, enabling visibility, accountability, and alignment across stakeholders.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Portfolio Governance
- Maintain the integrated project register, milestone tracker, and RAID logs
- Ensure consistency in project status updates, dashboard reporting, and documentation
- Support the Director of Architecture and Projects in administering governance forums, steering committees, and stage gates
Delivery Oversight
- Track project health, budget adherence, and timeline compliance across programs
- Support escalation and resolution of key risks, dependencies, and blockers
- Facilitate project reviews and post-implementation assessments
PMO Operations & Tooling
- Drive adoption of standard templates, workflows, and reporting practices across projects
- Implement, Administer and maintain portfolio management tools (e.g., Planview, MS Project, Smartsheet)
- Develop and distribute monthly reporting packs, CAPEX phasing updates, and benefit tracking summaries
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as a liaison between Project Managers, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Architecture to ensure cohesive execution
- Manage the document repository and ensure version control, traceability, and audit-readiness of all PMO records
Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in PMO or program/project management roles in telecom or enterprise environments
- Strong knowledge of project governance frameworks and lifecycle methodologies
- Proficiency with project portfolio tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, Power BI, or similar)
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification preferred
