Primary objective of the job: 


To ensure accurate and timely financial management information is prepared with detailed analysis. Reviewing year-to-date and latest month actual performance data from the company finance systems in order to ensure accounting transactions are reported properly and financial reporting for the function is accurate; Including detailed OPEX analysis and detailed CAPEX analysis compared to budget, prior years and forecasts.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Work in close partnership with the individual budget holders and the group consolidation team to provide accurate, timely and comprehensive annual budgets as well as monthly re-forecasts.  Supporting the annual business planning process with strong business reporting for business insights and decision making
  • Identifying causes of significant or unusual business trends and variances by conducting research (e.g., interacting with the markets) and/or further deep dives as needed, etc.; Challenge current ways of working, driving efficiencies and cost savings wherever possible
  • Preparing variance analyses versus various periods with solid commentary to explain the moving parts that can be submitted to the group CFO for presentation;
  • Preparing the analysis for the annual insurance renewal and presenting to the Group CFO
  • Communicating and interpreting results and recommended scenarios to the appropriate level of management, providing additional perspective on implications, risks, opportunities and trends, including reaching agreement on the way forward;
  • Leading or participating in Financial improvement projects that are determined throughout the year as initiatives to drive higher productivity; (in particular Workday rollout)
  • Lead the reporting of the accounting and cash CAPEX while producing a monthly report outlining the key variances. Also, lead the budget processes supporting the Group CTO and markets for the annual budgeting and 3 year strategic planning
  • Through the CAPEX committee, working with the group CTO to ensure the key controls around budgeted, approved and business KPI’s are available to aid decision making
  • To independently conduct monthly review meetings with key budget holders and to act as a key point of contact to support the budget holders. Participating in operating meetings (e.g., division planning meetings, individual


Academic Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required:


  • Qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant post-qualification experience gained in a commercial environment
  • Demonstrated competency in managing complex multi-location & multi-currency consolidations
  • Understanding and application of key consolidation principles such as group eliminations, investments, minority interest and inter-company transactions
  • Up to date on the latest with IFRS, in particular IFRS16
  • Prior team management experience in a multi-cultural environment
  • Strong attention to detail & Excellent analytical skills
  • Skilled user of Microsoft office including advanced excel knowledge
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to articulate progress, issues and recommendations in a concise manner
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • High standards of accuracy and consistency in data, and efficient identification and resolution of issues.
  • Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate high energy, a strong work ethic, flexibility, a relentless customer-focus and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred
