Primary objective of the job:

 

 

  • Implement strategies to optimize the performance and reliability of headend systems to ensure maximum uptime and minimal service disruptions
  • Plan and execute regular maintenance activities, upgrades, and replacements of headend equipment to stay abreast of technological advancements and enhance network efficiency
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical issues within the headend systems promptly to minimize service interruptions and customer impact
  • Monitor and assess headend capacity to anticipate future network requirements and plan for expansions accordingly
  • Regular Audit of network resources and ensuring that sufficient resources are available to sustain the growth

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitor and manage the day-to-day operations of headend systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards
  • Provide expert technical support and guidance to the team, assisting in complex problem-solving and troubleshooting activities
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute upgrades and integrations of headend equipment and software in line with network requirements
  • Conduct regular audits to maintain high-quality standards in headend operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes
  • Be on-call to respond promptly to critical issues and emergencies affecting the headend systems,taking appropriate actions to restore services swiftly

 

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field
  • Proven experience in managing headend operations within the telecommunications industry
  • In-depth knowledge of headend equipment, cable distribution systems, IP, multicast, unicast and RF technologies
  • Strong database and scripting proficiency in languages like Python, Bash, and PowerShell
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to headend operations
  • Strong understanding of IP networking and encoding technologies

    issues
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate with
    cross-functional teams
