Primary Objective of the job:

  • The Human Resource Executive: Recruitment primary responsibility is to:
    • Assist in the management and execution of all aspects of the recruitment and selection cycle for the Digicel Jamaica Recruitment portfolio – from the recruitment requisition stage to the offer and acceptance stage.
    • Collaborate with the HR team to identify and implement programs and initiatives to support the HR direction of Digicel Jamaica.
    • Partnering with Jamaica HR Team and Hiring Managers to ascertain recruitment needs in an effort to facilitate the hiring of the right candidate.

 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Key activities will include partnering with the Digicel Jamaica Hiring Managers and the rest of the HR team in the following areas:

 

Recruitment and Selection:

The key responsibility for this area is to support the recruitment needs for all functions and levels of the Jamaica business for the full recruitment and hiring cycle.  Key activities will include partnering with Group Recruiting team, HR Team and Hiring Managers to:

  • Develop and prepare job profiles to support job postings.
  • Candidate sourcing – managing link to Candidate Manager and other job site to source and identify suitable candidates as well as establish formal and informal partnership with various sources to identify suitable candidates.
  • Lead communication and full cycle of the interview process with applicants/candidates and hiring managers.
  • Be proactive in managing staffing supply and demand, track recruiting and staffing metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • To support and enhance all new staff announcement to facilitate timely dissemination.
  • Contribute to the development of HR’s policies, programs and procedures as well as ensuring the regulatory compliance of HR projects.
  • Plan and implement processes required to bring additional labour into the business for special projects

 

University Relations

  • Support the recruitment team in the planning and execution of Digicel’s participation in career/job fairs hosted by our partners institutions
  • Report on all matters related to the recruitment process
  • Provide regular and adhoc reports as required
  • Respond to general HR queries from internal/external customers via telephone or email.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

 

Academic qualifications and experience required for job:

  • B.Sc. in Management Studies, Human Resource Management, Psychology or related area.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in Human Resources, with at least two being in recruitment and selection area.

 

Specialized knowledge, skills and training Required:

  • Exceptional recruitment and assessment skills (including biographical and behaviour-based interviewing, and headhunting).
  • Knowledge of manpower planning.
  • Working knowledge of on-boarding
  • Outstanding facilitation and coaching skills
  • Must be results focused, with a commitment to measuring progress.
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining the company’s policies and procedures while ensuring we maintain a positive working environment.
  • Display high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to be flexible and respond to a variety of urgent and critical issues in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Advance working knowledge of MC Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
