Primary objective of the job:
The IFRS 16 Accountant is responsible for the IFRS 15 and 16 end to end process, the Group FRS Accountant updates contracts in the lease management system (LMS) and ensures monthly reporting is delivered in an accurate, complete and timely manner for IFRS 16 and post monthly journals for IFRS 15.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage data into LMS, resolving discrepancies / incomplete information with relevant stakeholders on a timely manner
- Prepares month templates and shares monthly journals and reconciliations to SSC teams
- Post month journals for IFRS 15 and prepares monthly reconciliation for SSC teams on a timely basis
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis as necessary mainly on a quarterly basis
- Look for opportunities to streamline the process
- On a quarterly basis assist Group IFRS Manager with quarterly IFRS 15 true up process
- Prepares journals and schedules for Annual budgets and quarterly forecasting reports
Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent in finance
- At least two (2) experience as responsible / owner of a financial reporting related process in a medium / large organisation
- Proficient excel user
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Demonstrated organisational and interpersonal skills with a relentless focus on achieving objectives in a timely manner
- Relevant experience applying accounting principles and practices
- Experience with IFRS is desirable but not restrictive as there will be specific training on this area
Functional Skills:
- Knowledge of IFRS is a plus
- Strong data analysis skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Very strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
- Very Strong in Excel
