Primary objective of the job: 


Play an active role in the implementation and maintenance of the IP-based network infrastructure with a focus on firewalls, DNS, DHCP, CGNs and Network Managers, ensuring its efficient and secure operation. The role focuses on maintaining and implementing a robust and scalable IP-based network that supports the company's communication services and meets the needs of its customers and of the company, such as timelines and adherence to defined scope and quality standards. This involves managing IP addressing and subnetting, implementing network security measures, monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, planning network expansions, collaborating with vendors, and documenting network configurations.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:


•    IP Systems Strategy: Collaborate with the IP systems Manager to develop and implement the IP based networks
•    Network Infrastructure Management: Implement and maintain the IP network infrastructure, including firewalls, DNS, DHCP, CGNs, and Network Managers. Ensure the network is optimized for performance, reliability, and scalability. Continuously monitor and analyze the network performance, adjusting as necessary to optimize performance and minimize downtime
•    Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network IP issues, including but not limited to connectivity, performance degradation and security breaches
•    Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, procedures. Create network diagrams and documentation for reference troubleshooting
•    Risk and Compliance: Adhere to company and industry standards. Implement security and access control best practices to protect sensitive customer data and network assets


Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:


•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field
•     2 to 5 years of experience in IP systems within the telecommunications industry or a related field
•    Proven experience designing, configuring, and maintaining IP-based networks, preferably in the telecommunications industry
•    In-depth knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VLANs
•    Proficiency in network equipment configuration and management, such as Cisco routers and switches
•    Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices
•    Leadership experience, including managing and developing technical teams
•    Industry certifications, such as CCIE or JNCIE, are highly desirable

 

Functional Skills:


•    Expertise in network design, architecture, and optimization for IP networks.
•    Proficiency in network protocols and technologies, routing protocols, network troubleshooting and management tools
•    Familiarity with telecom technologies and standards, such as VoIP, LTE, and 5G
•     Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
•    Project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and deliver network projects
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in complex network environments
•    Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with stakeholders at all levels
