Primary objective of the job:


  • Providing first line support for the investigating and troubleshooting of reported voice related issues. 
  • Maintain quality of service of international voice network in accordance with KPI thresholds.
  • Efficiently monitor and maintain all International Switching Nodes (including SBC, Control Switches and associated nodes), Mini-Switch and related transmission equipment to deliver the highest possible service to our customers. 


Main Duties and Responsibilities :


Preventative and Corrective Maintenance


  • Investigate as 1st Level support for issues raised by stakeholders for international voice calls or services.
  • Take corrective actions when an issue has been identified or reported. This includes running reports and drilling down data to isolate and identify where the issue possibly lies and checking the international switches in Miami and NY for any anomalies such as missing codes, incorrect routing, number blocking, switch failure.
  • Escalate internally or externally issues that require further investigation or actions. Track/follow up on issues reassigned/passed on and update relevant stakeholders until issue is resolved.
  • Ensure timely completion of preventative and corrective maintenance assignments
  • Monitor KPI performance to prevent losses on all nodes to ensure 99.99% availability.
  • Ensure all hardware and software faults in the International Nodes and their related transmission equipment are resolved within the agreed SLA.
  • Support Roaming and Carriers team with all international call issues
  • Maintain trouble ticket database to track international voice service issues.




  • Establish interconnection with local and International operators.
  • Implement new and upgraded software and hardware
  • Establish interconnections at Digicel X and Digicel NY with various BUs and international carriers using SIP


Statistical Analysis of Data


  • KPI Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare and submit weekly reports.


Academic qualifications and experience required for job:


  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering specializing in Telecommunications is preferred
  • Three (3) years experience in the telecommunication field with at least two (2) years of experience in telephony switching.
  • Some knowledge of C7/SS7 Signaling network protocol.
  • Sound knowledge of SIP Signaling network protocol in VoIP networks
  • Understanding of IP, Basic knowledge of Linux and Unix
