Primary objective of the job: 

The Junior Accountant will be a member of Group Finance Team and partners with Commercial, Operations and Product Development to provide analytical support, and revenue impact analysis and scenarios.

The new member will be successful in this role if s/he can perform under pressure, is outspoken, and is highly independent. The candidate will be a good fit for the team if s/he can combine superior analytical skills to comfortably deal with ambiguity. This new member will be involved in supporting various projects through routine data collection, reporting, progress and milestones tracking as well as ad-hoc analytical.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Supporting the Content Accountant:

    • Participate in Invoice Reconciliation Activities
    • Update SharePoint Site with latest versions of Channel Line-up and Subscriber Reports.
    • Perform Content Costing Analysis
    • Work with commercial team as necessary for Content Pricing Analysis
    • Report Subscriber monthly usage to Content Vendors
    • Maintain Subscriber Reports for FP&A Reporting
    • Provide timely updates on Content Charges updates to Markets

Support the Content Accounting function:

    • Manage version control at each month’s close clearly documenting variance drivers
    • Assist with peer reviews of all reports
    • Assist with Digital Content Recharge and accruals for markets
    • Content costing (accrual) for all H&E markets – based on monthly subscriber reports
    • Support month-end Accounting Close process for the Content Businesses and H&E
    • Other duties as assigned

 

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

 

    • Pursing ACCA and/or Bachelor of Science Degree with emphasis in Accounting or Finance
    • 3+ years of experience in similar role
    • Skilled in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
    • Experience in performing financial modeling
    • Experience in and with the mobile telecommunications sector would be considered a valuable asset
    • An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements
