Job Profile: Procurement Manager

 

Primary objective of the job: 

  • To play a significant role in managing Digicel’s sourcing capabilities and supply chain, delivering value through working with internal stakeholders, strategizing and negotiating with suppliers in order to acquire the most cost-effective goods and services.

     

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders that will allow the implementation of Procurement plans and policies in a collaborative manner.
  • Negotiate /re-negotiate new and/or existing contracts and rates sheets to ensure that Digicel is continually receiving best value
  • Continually looking to identify and achieve significant cost saving across supplier base
  • Ensure that suppliers deliver to agreed price, quality, service levels and agreed timelines
  • Liaise and work with other departments (e.g. Technical, Marketing, Consumer Sales) to identify ongoing supply requirements and convert these requirements into accurate forecasts
  • Aim to continuously improve internal processes associated with strategic and tactical sourcing
  • Continually looking to introduce new local and international suppliers to maintain competitiveness in the areas of price, quality and service levels
  • Effectively manage supplier related issues (late delivery, incorrect pricing, poor quality goods or services, etc) with the supplier themselves and relevant Heads of Department/Directors in Digicel.
  • Proactively review the marketplace for new products which might enhance or replace goods/supplies presently being purchased and feedback this information to the relevant Heads of Department/Directors in Digicel.
  • Produce monthly spend analysis reports which will be used to generate a more accurate forecast model as well as reports on status of tenders issued and closed
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and provide constructive feedback to suppliers on their overall performance and areas to improve

 

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Degree in business management or equivalent qualifications in Procurement and Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum five to seven (5-7) years’ experience in Telecoms/FMCG or similar environment in a Procurement Management role
  • Very strong in the areas of supplier contract management.
  • Experienced negotiator.
  • Strong influencing skills at executive and senior management level
  • Results driven with proven ability to deliver in  high intensity environment
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data

  • Microsoft Office proficient (Work, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Effective communicator – both orally and written.
  • Problem solving skills and solution driven
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Diligent and meticulous with an eye for detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines & consistently perform under pressure
  • Strong knowledge of the industry and market conditions
