Primary objective of the job:

  • End-to-end ownership and management of the product portfolio mix for assigned market(s) towards meeting and/or exceeding business objectives and KPIs, while guiding products, promotion and initiatives through their life-cycle (i.e. from concept through to implementation).

 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Business management

  • Manage the product portfolio mix, towards meeting and/or exceeding business plan objectives and KPIs, while guiding products through their life-cycle, for assigned market(s).
  • Monitor revenue development and identify new promotions, products or pricing initiatives for assessment and/or implementation.
  • Explore market trends and industry developments and proactively recommends portfolio enhancements focused towards developing digital products that are customer focused, useable and relevant
  • Provide progress and status reports to the Manager and Department Head (and SMT where required)

 

Business partners

  • Liaise with all key stakeholders / departments identified in Digicel markets, to drive in-market support / execution of VAS roadmap (i.e. functional areas – Technical, Go-to-market, Billing, Marketing etc.) and ensure timely and accurate set-up / launch of new products, and changes to existing products – where applicable. – for assigned markets.
  • Work closely with the Digicel markets to ensure execution of Digital Campaigns, BTL SMS pushes to drive customer acquisition, usage and retention for targeted segments in assigned markets
  • Work closely with the Business Intelligence & Reporting Analyst to ensure that Daily / Weekly/ Monthly reports are consistent. – for assigned markets
  • Liaise with the Project Manager on the execution / tracking of the status of assigned initiatives i.e. For products enhancements and/or new product developments and/or product decommissioning.
  • Liaise with vendors on product improvement, CEX related challenges and resolution etc - for assigned market(s)

 

Operational tasks

  • Coordinate with the relevant Digicel team/s (Billing, MIS, VANs etc.) to have short/long codes provisioned on the network (on SMSC, relevant Billing platforms and reflected on MIS Reports) in a timely manner.
  • Provide support to troubleshoot service affecting issues and escalate any performance issues from LIVE services to all key stakeholders (i.e. NewCom or Digicel Technical) and follow through to resolution.
  • Provide support (as needed) with the monthly invoicing process.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

 

Academic qualifications and experience required for job, including but not limited to the following:

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a First (1st) degree in Business, Finance, Marketing (or equivalent professional qualification). MBA or second-degree a plus.

 

Experience required

  • 2 to 4 years Commercial experience for a telecom’s provider working in a revenue generating or product type role.
  • Demonstrates strong product development/management skills and has experience in gaining support for initiatives in a diverse, cross-functional environment, taking full ownership and responsibility for assigned product initiatives.
  • Experience in developing and managing digital products and services, from business case to product launch
  • Able to influence and interface well with supporting stakeholder teams, and balance commercial and technical requirements and objectives.
  • Knowledge of budget and business case preparation (is a plus)
