Project Officer

Primary objective of the job:

The Project Officer is responsible for providing technical support and coordination of site acquisition and construction activities pursuant to the interest of Digicel. This involves lease negotiation and regularization together with management of site construction issues and budgets.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage contractors on civil works and cell site construction which includes performance review and management.

• Acquire necessary approvals from relevant agencies for erection of telecommunication towers

• Procure necessary equipment and accessories for telecommunication towers

• Provide and maintain schedules for construction projects

• Ensure all works are prepared and executed in accordance with engineering and installation specifications and standards.

• Review invoices as measured to as-built works,  preparation of payments and manages overall budget

• Manage lease creation and renegotiations with site owners

• Preparation of contract document.

• Organize and chair meetings with vendors, agencies, contractors and internal stakeholders

• Any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Academic qualifications and experience required for job:

• Professional Project Management Certification

• Minimum of 2 years experience in project management

• BSc in civil engineering, architecture or construction and related certification OR equivalent combination of education and experience would be an asset

• Experience in and with the mobile telecommunications sector would be considered a valuable asset
