Job Profile: Safety and Security Executive 

 

 

Primary objective of the job:

  • The Safety and Security Executive is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of personnel, assets, and facilities. The incumbent will provide system, physical and administrative support in matters relating to the above-mentioned areas. 

 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain access control systems (e.g., card readers, biometrics)
  • Respond to and process staff that have misplaced or lost ID cards
  • Maintain ID picture database and process ID cards for new staff
  • Adjustment of access rights and manage/report access breaches
  • Process access reports as requested by senior Facilities, HR, and or SMT personnel
  • Review CCTV footage for security incidents as requested by Security Manager and Head of Facilities only
  • Monitor all system for CCTV, micro controller, network, and database faults
  • Review physical logbooks in the control room to ensure continuity of records by security personnel
  • Ensure restricted areas are secure and access is granted only to authorized personnel

Physical Security & Personnel Safety

  • Communicate with security control room; instruct and update guard on duties and special arrangements
  • Assist with Coordinating and managing on the ground security personnel at all locations
  • Respond to security incidents and emergencies promptly

Disaster Preparedness & Business Continuity

  • Assist in developing and updating disaster recovery and emergency response plans
  • Assist with the coordinating internal teams and external agencies (fire, police, medical) for crisis management
  • Ensure availability and functionality of emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, alarms, first aid kits)

Evacuation Drill Coordination

  • Assist with Planning, schedule, and execute fire drills and emergency evacuation exercises
  • Organize and execute employee training on emergency procedures and evacuation routes
  • Document drill outcomes and recommend improvements

Parking Management

  • Oversee parking allocation, enforcement, and access control
  • Resolve parking-related disputes and violations
  • Maintain orderly and secure parking facilities

Compliance & Reporting

  • Maintain logs and reports on incidents, inspections, and security breaches
  • Assist in audits and risk assessments

Safety

  • Attend to the sick and injured and provide reports
  • Medical facility – liaise with Facility (Hospitals/Medical Centre/Doctor’s Office) to organize treatment of persons that are sick or injured

 

 

 

Academic qualifications and experience required for job:

  • Must be educated to degree level and an entry level Diploma in security supervisory training
  • 3+ years of Security supervisory experience with at least 1 year in an in corporate role
  • First AID training qualification would be advantageous
  • Proven experience in project management
  • A broad range of experiences ranging from soft skills and communications through to management development, systems processes, basic networking and computer skill
  • Proven experience with managing key stakeholders
  • Computer literate with excellent knowledge of PowerPoint, word and excel
  • Experience of security systems software and BMS a bonus
