Primary objective of the job: 

The Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain leads the market’s end to end procurement and logistics operations, ensuring strategic alignment with the company’s business goals. This role manages sourcing, supplier relationships, logistics performance, and operational execution while driving efficiency, compliance, and cost optimization.

A key part of the role is leading and developing a high performing team, providing direction, coaching, and accountability to ensure world class procurement and logistics capability within the market.

  • Ensure compliance by promoting good governance and awareness of Company policy requirements
  • Manage Strategic Sourcing activities to enable Business goals and deliver Savings targets
  • Ensure effective and compliant contract management to mitigate risk exposure and protect the Company’s interests

Manage international Inbound and Outbound deliveries to minimise logistics costs, rent and demurrage charges.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  •  Develop Market-level Category plans through Annual Demand planning with internal stakeholders to plan the appropriate sourcing strategies 
  • Identify savings opportunities using spend analytics within and across categories to aggregate or standardize repeat spend
  • Manage supplier pre-qualification and registration process ensuring adherence to all due diligence requirements
  • Manage the source to contract process to ensure efficient processing of incoming requirements, through evaluations, award and contract
  • Develop negotiation strategies and lead negotiations to secure favourable terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations
  • Review and approve commercial evaluations, recommendations of award, purchase orders and contracts summary forms 
  • Optimize the logistics path per category and track incoming shipments to manage clearance process and minimize rent and demurrage
  • Maintain effective contracts management process to ensure timely renewal of contracts or lease
  • Lead annual vendor performance reviews in alignment with supplier segments according to value and associated risk and/or criticality
  • Promote good procurement and contracting practice and ensure business practices conform to the corporate expectations in terms of Code of Conduct and business ethics
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails on all procurement events and prepare performance reports, dashboards and executive summaries related to purchasing activity and saving
  • Set performance goals for the procurement team members and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
  • Stay informed about market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact procurement activities

 

Qualifications and Experience Required:

 

  •  7+ years’ experience within a Procurement environment, covering multiple categories of expenditure with at least 2 years supervisory experience 
  • First degree in Business, Finance, Operations or equivalent preferred. A Master’s degree will be an assets
  • Professional Certification (CIPS or equivalent) preferred
  • Knowledge of Procurement/Supply Chain systems, processes and best practice

  • Communication – Excellent oral and written abilities are needed to build and sustain supplier relationships and present strategy or outcomes to senior management
  • Strategic Sourcing and Negotiation – advanced experience in setting negotiation strategies, leading complex negotiations and executing sourcing events
