As a Digital Operator, Digicel is always exploring innovative technology to enable business change. We search to implement new digital-first technologies and business models, as we are at the heart of telecommunication industry transformation. We provide Digital services across 25 countries located in the Caribbean and Central America, through state-of-the-art digital technology and we continue to do so through our new digital transformation program.

We are looking for experienced Digital Transformation Director who will be responsible for implementing a strategic digital transformation program across all our service lines (Mobile, Fiber to the home/ business and ICT Business) to ensure we serve our customers and clients even better. The Director subsequently will take ownership for the strategic delivery and execution of this digital transformation initiative by leveraging their deep digital transformation expertise and execution management skills to ensure the program is implemented on quality, time and budget.



Primary objective of the job:

Digicel is continuing on its Digital Transformation and this project will be the next phase across all our markets, focusing on transformation and standardization of our core systems. We will be transforming all our systems into a highly digital, world class BSS and OCS supporting excellent customer experiences while streamlining and optimizing the business operational processes and functions.

We are looking to hire a Transformation Director to lead and deliver a business transformation. Due to the importance of this role for the business, this role will report directly to the COO but must also be able to get into the detail of a large Transformation Program while having a strong record of interacting with Senior Management stakeholders and reporting to a Board of Directors. 


The main objectives of this role are:

  • Deliver Core Digital systems across BSS, OCS, and customer front end through a large scale transformation programme to ensure delivery on the technical, business and customer objectives, on target against scope, schedule and budget. This covers all transformation work streams (BSS, OCS, front end), delivered by both internal and/or 3rd party resources.
  • Design, implement & operate the necessary methods and standards to deliver control of the programme.
  • Account for the Programme reporting, including “plan on a page” of the overall programme roadmap for the transformation
  • Drive the business demand management process, including prioritization and full engagement and incorporation of all stakeholders across Digicel (mobile business, Fiber to the home/ business, ICT business solutions, network, finance, HR etc)
  • Manage and hold accountable Vendor project delivery assurance, ensuring the programme have correct governance in place and operates according to best practice project, including steering committees, tollgates etc
  • Manage the resource management, ensuring programme is resourced correctly with right skills and number of resources to fulfill programme obligations.
  • Drive the change Management throughout the organization in tandem with the Group CEO (introducing change into the business, operation and customer environment)
  • Responsible and accountable for overall management of the Project Budget to ensure project is delivered on time, within scope and within Budget while responsible for Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies (RAID) management
  • Responsible for accurate reporting of the overall programme  to the Digicel Board on a monthly basis ( will require attending Face to Face Board of Director meetings)

  • A hands-on Program director that can lead, inspire and motivate your 60 team members. These project members are engaged from across the organization and work hard on the further digitalisation of our business. You will be part of the senior management team and you work closely with members of the Digicel Board. Furthermore, you work with different vendor management teams outside the organisation to deliver the program.
  • With an open mind, experience and bags of enthusiasm, you enable the digital transformation, through Hands-on experience with applying technology to achieve a durable change of our entire business model.



Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on the overall objectives of the role (listed above)
  • End to end responsibility for successful project implementation and ensuring engagement and deliverables from business stakeholders to deliver the project & programme portfolio, covering all transformation workstreams
  • Design, implement and operate the core project control processes, including: Reporting, Demand Management, Delivery Assurance, Governance, Resource Management, Change Control, Change Management, Financial management, RAID Management
  • Programme planning, including the roadmap “plan on a page”.
  • Deliver on the Business change required for a successful business transformation
  • Measure against progress of digital transformation goals and continue to ensure the all risks are mitigated against a rapidly changing landscape.
  • Maintain and report portfolio delivery status, KPIs, risks, issues, & actions
  • Operate the overarching governance processes including steering committees and tollgates, including with business, operations, finance & HR etc.
  • Timely escalation if and when needed and manage the core team on daily basis
  • Deliver the project on time, within scope and on/or below budget.



Academic qualifications and experience required for job:

  • Must have a proven track record and experience in implementing a Digital Transformation Project in large international enterprise preferable including Telco BSS, OCS and/or customer channels
  • Must have 10+ years of programme management experience, including telco & media
  • Must have experience of successfully managing large programmes ($50m+ budgets)
  • Must have experience of designing and implementing programme and portfolio control frameworks for organszations with multiple international businesses
  • Must have a proven track record in managing large scale budgets
  • Must have experience being a part of a Senior management team and reporting to a Board of Directors



What you will bring:

  • You have extensive experience in working with multi-skilled digital teams (Architects, Project Managers, UX Designers, Software Engineers and QA Engineers);
  • You have a strong understanding of business transformation including culture change and process change, digital, development and change delivery, preferably in the Telecommunication area;
  • You have a strong ability to work with both business and technology stakeholders;
  • You have an entrepreneurial drive, with the ability to deconstruct and solve problems
  • You have proven ability to build strong relationships across stakeholder groups, with the ability to effectively influence and communicate across various business units and at executive levels within the organization;
  • You are an enthusiastic and creative leader with the ability to inspire others;
  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills, and the demonstrated ability to network with c-suite executives, physically and virtually
  • Strong, proven experience of successfully working on transformation and organisational change projects.
  • Experience of setting digital transformation strategy and gaining buy-in across all levels of an organisation.
  • Experience of delivering transformation innovation projects using a range of techniques to successfully pilot rapidly and scale if successful.
