Purpose of the Role:


The Digicel International business helps our Diaspora customer base across the globe to stay connected with their loved ones in our 32 Digicel mobile markets. We’re searching for a qualified business development specialist to extend our reach into the Caribbean Diaspora communities and deliver our products through partnerships in new and untapped channels.


We are proud of the impact our solutions have on the daily lives of our Diaspora customers and expect the Business Development Manager to have an immediate impact to make our products even more accessible. Highly skilled at sales and business operations, this person will join a team of like-minded go-getters to have our Digicel products touch our Diaspora across the world, every day, every minute.



Key Accountabilities of the Role:


  • Pro-actively find new opportunities and able to deliver a deal with a measurable and positive impact on our transaction volumes within the first 90 days
  • Develop sales strategies using your existing contacts at verticals our customers touch and frequent every day through such as their jobs, (neo-)banks, (e-)commerce go-to’s, travel and social sites and apps, or where they redeem rewards or pay their every day bills
  • Contribute towards the overall revenue targets and plan to increase adoption of Digicel products and services
  • Abe to articulate the opportunities across the organisation in a clear and concise way and execute against relevant ones in a timely manner
  • Hands on management of the end to end sales cycle, including demand generation, go-to-market plan, partner relationship management and influencing their decision makers
  • Ensure partner retention, contractual health and satisfaction and compliance
  • Work closely with the commercial product team, the marketing organization and especially the operations team



Minimum Qualifications and Experience:


  • Dynamic and eager to learn
  • Degree Level Education in Business or Management
  • Strong affinity with cross-border products and services to Caribbean markets or ecosystem and ideally some experience in mobile telecommunications or the fintech industry
  • Knowledge of financial fundamentals and able to prepare and explain business cases
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver deals and an immediate impact on transaction volumes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player - working in co-operation with colleagues to achieve target outcomes.
  • Ability to operate in a fluid organisation with evolving priorities
