Primary objective of the job:

 

The Digicel International business helps our Diaspora customer base across the globe to stay connected with their loved ones in our 25 Digicel mobile markets. We’re searching for an accomplished professional who can lead account management of our existing distribution partners and be the primary business development specialist to extend our reach into the Caribbean Diaspora communities through partnerships in new and untapped channels.

 

We are proud of the impact our solutions have on the daily lives of our Diaspora customers and expect the Head of Sales & Distribution to have an immediate impact by growing existing relationships and make our products even more accessible, geographically and through new channel partners. Highly skilled at sales and business operations, this person will join a team of like-minded go-getters to have our Digicel products touch our Diaspora across the world, every day, every minute.

 

Academic qualifications and experience required:

 

  • Revenue growth from existing distribution partners: identify opportunities that will drive and fulfill customer requirements and execute the account plan in collaboration with our internal teams
  • Strategic account plan management with all distributors: daily revenue monitoring; monthly meetings to review sales reports, performance, branding, territory expansion, new business development, etc
  • Identify, develop, negotiate and sign new distribution to increase channel access to our products across various territories
  • Pro-actively identify new partners and distributors and deliver a deal with a measurable and positive impact on our transaction volumes within the first 90 days
  • Update distributors about new product and services and ensure successful launch in conjunction with the commercial and product team
  • Develop sales strategies using your existing contacts at verticals our customers touch and frequent every day through such as their jobs, (neo-)banks, (e-)commerce go-to’s, travel and social sites and apps, or where they redeem rewards or pay their every day bills
  • Contribute towards the overall revenue targets and plan to increase adoption of Digicel products and services
  • Able to articulate the opportunities across the organisation in a clear and concise way and execute against relevant ones in a timely manner
  • Hands on management of the end to end sales cycle, including demand generation, go-to-market plan, partner relationship management and influencing their decision makers
  • Ensure partner retention, contractual health and satisfaction and compliance
  • Work closely with the commercial product team, the marketing organisation and especially the operations team

 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • Degree in Business Management
  • 6 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Relevant experience in telecoms, financial services (Money Transfer) or FMCG environment with demonstrated growth in revenue
  • Excellent communication skills and are a strong leader with excellent people management skills and impeccable commercial acumen
  • Strong affinity with cross-border products and services to Caribbean markets or ecosystem and ideally some experience in mobile telecommunications or the money transfer industry
  • Knowledge of financial fundamentals and able to prepare and explain business cases and account plans
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver deals and an immediate impact on transaction volumes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player - working in co-operation with colleagues to achieve target outcomes.
  • Ability to operate in a fluid organisation with evolving priorities
