The ICT Engineer is responsible for working with the ICT team towards implementing the ICT services sold to clientele by Digicel Business Corporate Sales team. It will involve the implementation, configuration and maintenance of ICT solutions across the corporate account base and other suitable customers. The position will involve all aspects of ICT product implementation, configuration and maintenance.

 

KEY FUNCTIONS:

  • SIP and/or GSM Gateway surveys and installations.
  • PBX surveys and installations.
  • PMTP (Point to Multi Point) surveys and installations.
  • Cloud services – consultancy, application installations.
  • WIFI mesh surveys
  • Cabling surveys
  • Prepare and finish cabling, both at customer premises and Digicel office or service locations.
  • Prepare quotation for customer installation and place orders for parts or services at local or off island dealers.
  • Provide first line identification and resolution of faults for ICT products (PBX, gateway, wifi, cloud service, etc).
  • Configure and roll out PBX hardware, software and administrator tools on client devices to support with ICT products.
  • Install Client software for cloud services, service administration and monitoring purposes.
  • Configure dial plan for PBX and SIP/Gateway installations.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair hardware and software for ICT products.
  • Keep accurate documentation and ensure all required documentation is maintained in a timely basis.
  • Working On Call (out of office hours maintenance and/or trouble shooting)
  • Other ICT/Business Solutions related tasks as requested by your department manager.

 

POSITION PROFILE:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Professional Education or equivalent combination of education in a related field of study.
  • Engineering/Science degree desirable but not essential.
  • At least three (3) years experience performing in a similar role / duties.
  • Experience in and with the mobile telecommunications sector would be considered a valuable asset.
  • An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of ICT-related hardware and software applications.
  • CSE & CCNA Cisco certifications, Avaya Certifications and/or further technical qualifications.
  • Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be eligible to live and work in Aruba.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong LAN/WAN design and implementation skills
  • Strong Storage and Virtualization Architectures skills
  • Strong IP Voice Architecture skills
  • Switching & Routing (CISCO preferred)
  • Strong TCP/IP Knowledge
  • Hands on Knowledge of PBX technologies mainly IP, Hybrid and Analogue from Multiple Vendors for integration solutions
  • Comprehensive GSM knowledge to tailor complex corporate solutions

  • All reports and CRM inputs up to date and correct

LANGUAGE SKILLS AND REASONING ABILITY:

  • Must be fluent in English and knowledge of a second language (Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento) would be considered a plus.
