JOB TITLE: Transaction Monitoring Compliance Analyst (Internal-External)

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:

The Transaction Monitoring Compliance Analyst will support the day-to-day compliance efforts related to Anti Money Laundering and the Counter Financing of Terrorism (“AML/CFT”) and Fraud Prevention and ensure that the Transactions monitoring and KYC process are effective and it complies with local policies and procedures as well as AML/CFT laws and regulations and best practices including FinTech KYC practices.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Transaction Monitoring:

  • Oversee daily transaction monitoring processes, ensuring prompt identification and escalation of unusual or suspicious activity;
  • Review and analyze flagged transactions generated by the monitoring systems, applying risk-based approaches to assess potential financial crime risks;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate alerts, provide detailed findings, and ensure appropriate actions are taken (e.g., reporting suspicious activity to relevant authorities);
  • Conduct Compliance checks and branch and agent visits to ensure compliance with KYC and record retention policies and procedures;
  • Collaborate for the smooth functioning of the live transaction monitoring process;
  • Continuously review, and secure customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence information to facilitate the release of transaction alerts issued by our transaction monitoring systems (Automatic and Manual);
  • Follow up with staff, agents & customers, and remittance partners, as necessary, if requisite consumer due diligence documents are not received.

 

Customer Due Diligence (CDD):

  • Conduct thorough KYC assessments on high-risk customers, including initial onboarding and ongoing due diligence reviews;
  • Ensure that customer records are complete and accurate in compliance with internal KYC policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., FATF, AMLD, FinCEN);
  • Lead Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for high-risk customers, including review of beneficial ownership structures, PEP (Politically Exposed Person) status, and adverse media checks;
  • Support the development and enhancement of automated KYC systems to streamline customer onboarding and risk assessment;
  • Supervise the client account onboarding onto our core platform as well as 3rd party vendor platforms;
  • Evaluate high-risk accounts and analyze new customer processes and policies.

 

 

 

 

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorism financing (CTF), sanctions, and other relevant regulatory requirements;
  • Assist in preparing and filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in a timely manner with regulatory authorities;
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure that internal policies align with evolving global and local regulatory frameworks;
  • Stay informed about new laws and regulations related to AML/KYC compliance and disseminate the information to relevant stakeholders.

 

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare detailed reports and dashboards on monitoring activities, trends, and emerging risks for senior management and regulatory bodies;
  • Perform root cause analysis for escalated cases and propose improvements in processes and controls to mitigate similar risks in the future;
  • Work closely with audit teams during internal and external reviews, providing necessary documentation and addressing any compliance gaps;
  • Any other responsibility as required by the Corporate Chief Compliance Officer or the Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, Banking, or a related field.
  • A degree or specialized coursework in Compliance, Risk Management, Financial Crime, or Audit would be an asset.
  • Professional certification in AML/CFT, Compliance, Fraud Prevention, or Financial Crime (e.g., CAMS or equivalent) would be an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in Compliance, AML/CFT, KYC, Fraud Prevention, Risk Management, Banking, FinTech, Mobile Money, or Financial Services.
  • Knowledge of the Haitian financial/regulatory environment, particularly AML/CFT requirements applicable to financial institutions and mobile financial services, would be highly desirable.
  • Good computer skills (especially proficiency in EXCEL) or specific transaction monitoring systems
