Job Title: IT Cloud Vendor Analyst   

Location: Trinidad

 

Primary objective of the job: 

 

The primary responsibility of the IT Cloud Vendor Analyst is to own the operational relationship between the Cloud Services Team and external vendors.  This will include understanding the SLA, architecture and internal external RACI, executing monthly operational performance reviews, owning and leading critical outages and especially improvement roadmaps.  A clear understanding of software license usage is required to optimize the use of software within the cloud.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare, lead and monitor regular and ad-hoc meetings with vendor account managers to ensure that vendors are aligned on strategic direction of Digicel’s Cloud First Strategy.
  • Develop and direct the relationship with one or more strategic IT vendors.
  • Facilitate and build relationships with IT vendors.
  • Act as the point of accountability for escalation and arbitration for relationship issues.
  • Create and maintain IT vendor scorecards which effectively and easily depict the vendors performance.
  • Monitor the performance of the agreements and the overall relationships with the vendors
  • Participate in knowledge transfer within the Cloud Services Team
  • Provide software license management support and expertise to the Cloud Services Team.
  • Define software asset management processes, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all software assets are recorded, tracked and reported.
  • Monitor terms and conditions of software license usage
  • Manage software assets to ensure license compliance and avoid over purchasing
  • Identify issues and risks
  • Conduct audits on software use
  • Bring inconsistencies and problems to the attention of management
  • Track major incident management process and ensure adherence of the process and escalation requirements within the various support and delivery areas
  • Keep abreast of industry news and trends.

 

Academic qualifications and experience required:

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Software Asset Management experience would be an asset.

 

Functional Skills:

 

  • Strong relationship and interpersonal skills to be applied in working with Technology vendors across the entire contract life cycle
  • Understanding of the technology or service delivered by Technology vendors
  • Understanding of IT vendor motivations, strategic plans and market challenges
  • Strong dispute resolution and mediation skills to handle issue escalation and to drive win-win outcomes for both parties
  • Strong ability to communicate with IT users and business leaders to understand requirements, expectations and value measures
  • Strong knowledge of Technology vendors, their markets, and their competitors and market trends
  • Understanding of best practices and the methodologies and processes used for Technology Service Providers
