Job Title: Recharge & Distribution Manager  





The Recharge & Distribution Manager is responsible for managing the development of the prepaid products inclusive of the availability of Digicel prepaid Airtime and Digicel bundles to all prepaid customers as well as the implementation of marketing programs that drives the sale of the products both locally and internationally.

He/she will be responsible for the recharge process, determining and managing the level of demand for all products in the portfolio, allocation of resources to distributors based on achieving divisional objectives including revenue and bundled plans, contribute to the development of new innovative products whilst adding value as a senior member of the department to the achievement of departmental goals.


 Main Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Generate stock forecasts based on sales targets and sales periods for stock (handsets, recharge cards and SIM cards) and determine order quantities that ensure that appropriate stock levels are available at all times for all channels (Retail Sales, Internal and Business Sales).
  • Generate and submit distribution reports and inventory reports to the Senior Management team showing handset stock at local distributor, foreign distributor, on-order and in-transit, SIM and recharge stock and general stock position of Digicel Trinidad.
  • Coordinate the distribution of handsets, SIM cards, promotional and collateral material to the Business & Retail Channel and Internal.
  • Manage and monitor the age of handset stock and provide recommendations on activities, promotions and pricing to assist in the maintenance of minimal aged stock levels.
  • Manage and monitor all shipments of inventory (handsets, SIMs, recharge cards and promotional & collateral material) to ensure timely delivery. Manage costs of shipments and shipping methods attached to shipments of handsets, promotional items, SIMs and Top-Up to ensure that optimal shipping expenses are achieved via decisions on shipping carriers, methods etc.
  • Manage the internal demand for handset orders.
  • Review Handset Portfolio available from Manufacturers and select the handset portfolio range for Digicel Trinidad. Prepare POs to manufacturers for handsets.
  • Assist with the creation, planning and launch of all handset-related promotional/sale activities.
  • Monitor accrued co-op funds and provide projected co-op funds per month. Reconcile accrued co-op funds. Assist with activities for usage of co-op.
  • Prepare pricing analyses for all handsets and all handset promotions within the communicated SAC guidelines. Manage the process for establishing of pricing for new handsets/devices into market.
  • Manage communications to Dealers as relates to Distribution matters (Handsets available for ordering, Qty of stock available for ordering, New handsets available etc.).
  • Manage effective relationships with the Handset, SIM Card and Recharge Card Manufacturers; the Local Distributor and all other related external stakeholders.
  • Manage effective relationships with all critical inter-company stakeholders: Sales, Marketing, Customer care, IT, Technical, Finance, the CEO’s office, Group Distribution (Vendor Relations and Procurement Teams).
  • Develop, implement and manage all processes and procedures that relate to the effective operations of the Distribution function.
  • Monitor and maintain island-wide sales and distribution of recharge (top up) and bundled plans both locally and internationally.
  • Identify new business channels and develop strategies to increase voucher and bundled plan sales whilst maintaining existing relationships.
  • Develop, implement and manage all processes and procedures that relate to the effective operations of the recharge distribution unit and identify any gaps within and recommend solutions for closing these gaps.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to increase e-card distribution both locally and internationally.
  • Develop and launch new and innovative products to ensure that Digicel remains the market leader
  • To increase the company’s Recharge revenue as per agreed targets through the distribution of electronic top up by a minimum of 10% per annum.
  • Increase the usage of electronic recharge to achieve a revenue share of 95% electronic.
  • Manage and maintain adequate number of Retail outlets to ensure sufficient levels of airtime to satisfy market demand.
  • Manage and maintain stock levels of prepaid products to satisfactory levels.
  • To effectively and efficiently manage the continual movement of stock through the supply chain from retailer to consumer.
  • Develop and manage business processes of FMCG to remove costs and wastage and keep things moving by continually innovating new processes to match the demands made on products by consumers.
  • Evolve the recharge channel into selling plans at the merchant level.
  • Gamification of the merchant channel to foster an excited and Digicel centric atmosphere.
  • Develop a merchant level incentive program geared towards the sale of bundled plans.
  • Prepare weekly / monthly reports on the recharge channel from field trips and sales reports from distributors and other recharge partners.
  • Work with local/group technology teams to deliver new recharge/top up and bundled plan channels.
  • Develop and maintain strong effective relationships with Digicel’s distribution partners.
  • Monitor competitor recharge/top up strategy in local markets.
  • Ensure the Recharge channel is appropriately branded.
  • Conduct periodic audit of the recharge channel to gather data on our merchants identifying where gaps and areas for improvement.

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND related Certification OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years’ experience in Recharge/Distribution role performing at a managerial level.
  • 5+ years’ experience in and with the mobile telecommunications sector
  • An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
