The Distribution Manager is responsible for the efficient management and optimization of prepaid recharge operations, inventory control, distribution channels, handset

pricing, and MSISDN management to ensure product availability, operational efficiency, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities includes:

Recharge Operations and Distribution Management

· Coordinate and manage prepaid recharge operations across all channels, including online platforms, retail stores, distributors, and resellers.· Monitor and maintain countrywide recharge sales and distribution to ensure adequate product availability and market coverage.· Analyze recharge trends, customer behavior, and operational data to optimize replenishment strategies and inventory levels.· Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of recharge and distribution operations.· Monitor competitor recharge and top-up initiatives and recommend appropriate responses to maintain market competitiveness.· Oversee logistics planning, inventory movement, and distribution channel performance to ensure timely product delivery across all sales channels.· Collaborate with logistics partners, distributors, and internal teams to maintain operational efficiency and service continuity.· Conduct recharge channel audits to ensure optimal market coverage and consistent recharge availability.· Identify operational gaps and implement corrective actions to improve service delivery and operational performance.

Inventory Control and Supply Chain Management

· Collaborate with Retail Sales, Business Sales, and Commercial teams to prepare accurate monthly forecasts and maintain adequate stock levels of mobile devices, SIM cards, recharge products, and accessories.· Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to reconcile physical stock with system records.· Implement inventory management best practices to minimize stock-outs, excess inventory, and aged stock.· Analyze inventory trends and usage patterns to improve forecasting accuracy and operational efficiency.· Conduct market research to identify cost-effective suppliers and inventory solutions.

Pricing and Commercial Support

· Prepare pricing analyses for handsets and promotional offers in accordance with approved SAC guidelines.· Collaborate with the CFO and Commercial Team to ensure handset promotions remain commercially viable and compliant with company guidelines.· Manage the setup and pricing process for new devices entering the market and ensure all systems and applications are updated accurately and timely.

MSISDN and SIM Management

· Ensure sufficient MSISDN inventory is available to support sales operations while minimizing wastage through effective SIM recycling processes.· Forecast future MSISDN requirements and coordinate applications for additional number ranges with the Telecommunications Commission where necessary.

Vendor, Distributor, and Reseller Management

· Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, distributors, and resellers. · Negotiate favorable terms and ensure timely delivery of products and services. · Evaluate vendor and reseller performance and recommend improvements where required. · Monitor vendor compliance with agreed service levels and operational standards. · Identify opportunities to improve recharge distribution models, including in-housing initiatives and pilot programs with selected sub-distributors. · Support resellers in executing direct plan-selling initiatives to achieve revenue targets.

Reporting, Analysis, and Continuous Improvement

· Prepare regular operational reports covering recharge sales, inventory levels, SAC position, distribution performance, and operational efficiency. · Utilize data-driven insights to identify trends, risks, process improvements, and cost-saving opportunities. · Ensure accurate geo-tagging and documentation of recharge locations. · Anticipate operational challenges and implement proactive solutions to minimize business risks. · Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the implementation of innovative operational processes and technologies.

After-Sales and Operational Support

· Manage the end-to-end process for resolving device-related issues through internal teams and external support providers. · Ensure all device repairs and issues are accurately recorded within the device repair tracker. · Support product testing, live displays, and operational initiatives where required. 

Qualifications and experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Management (or any other related field of study)· 2 years’ experience performing similar role / duties· Certification in inventory and logistics would be considered a valuable asset.

· Experience in and with the mobile telecommunications sector would be considered a valuable asset.· An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.

Functional Skills:

· Strong understanding of prepaid recharge systems, telecommunications products, and distribution operations.· Knowledge of logistics coordination, inventory management, and supply chain best practices.

· Strong analytical, forecasting, and problem-solving skills.· Ability to manage vendors, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholder relationships effectively.· Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

· Strong organizational, project management, and tim  e-management skills.· Ability to adapt to changing business conditions and implement innovative operationalsolutions.· Proficiency in analyzing operational data to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
