Primary objective of the job:

The Role of Chief Executive Officer is responsible for leadership and management of all aspects of the business in the country of operation, ensuring best in class customer experience through optimum network and commercial performance, ultimately achieving financial targets.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development and effective execution of high-quality business strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with short-term and long-term objectives
  • Preparation and production of annual budgets and operating plans
  • Full P&L responsibility, ensuring all customer number, revenue and EBITDA targets are achieved
  • Implementation of management framework to oversee and manage all functions within the business, including KPI monitoring and management reviews of performance vs. business plans
  • Execution of corrective action as necessary on any aspect of business performance falling short of requirements
  • Ensuring adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics
  • Establishment and maintenance of effective relationships with all key external stakeholders including customers, business partners, distributors, suppliers, government and regulatory authorities
  • Work closely with governmental and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and contribute to the development of new regulations and policies
  • Representation of the business as necessary and required, including attendance of important functions, industry events and public meetings
  • Guardian of the company’s brand equity and public image to consumers, government, the wider business community and other stakeholders
  • Development of a high-performing managerial team, leading and motivating subordinates to advance employee engagement
  • Creation of fully considered, high-quality investing decisions to advance the business
  • Overseeing the rollout and introduction of new Digicel products and services.

 

Academic qualifications and experience required for job (Minimum)

  • Business Degree or equivalent with 5-10 years requisite Commercial experience
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a General Management or Senior Leadership position is required
  • Experience in a telecoms environment
  • Record of success in meeting aggressive targets
  • Proven and demonstrated experience and expertise in Sales or Business Development
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, influencing, forceful and convincing

 

Functional Skills:

  • Telecommunications experience is highly desirable
  • Emerging markets experience is desirable
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to build high performance teams.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Ability to work in deadline-driven, fast paced environment
  • Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
