JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB OVERVIEW

Job Title: Warehouse & Inventory Assistant

Department: Technical (Service Delivery Unit)

Reports to Serivce Delivery Manager

 

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:  

This role primarily supports the Service Delivery Manager in coordinating day-to-day activities of the Warehouse including inventory logging, storage and distribution. The role also supports logistics ensuring smooth flow of items procured along the process through brokerage and delivery to the warehouse.

 

INVENTORY

  • Utilize inventory-tracking system to record deliveries, shipments and stock levels
  • Assist relevant departments with inventory levels by providing reports and updates on shipping, logistics etc.
  • Liaise with shippers, customs and delivery crews as needed to track and ensure timely delivery of inventory
  • Ensure compliance with warehouse processes and documentation and conduct stock counts as needed.
  • Support spares, faulty units, and RMA process with company suppliers like Huawei, ZTE, Ciena etc.
  • Keeping stock up to date and ensuring inventory accuracy PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
  • Conducts regular inspections of warehouse Co-ordinate and ensure that the warehouse is always kept clean and tidy.
  • Label and maintain labels of all storage areas, boxes, pallets, items etc.
  • Take proactive action and make recommendations to maintain safety and security of the warehouse

 

 

SUPPORT

  • Support the O&M, ICT and Transport engineers as requested with network maintenance tasks
  • Support with the coordination of the procurement of goods and services

 

 

REPORTING

  • Escalate any un-resolved issues to your line manager in a timely manner.
  • Produce a weekly report of activities done, issues identified, issues resolved, issues escalated, key learnings, low stock etc.
  • Maintain up-to-date warehouse inventory. Produce inventory report monthly.

  

 

COMPANY RESOURCES AND TOOLS

  • Maintain company-provided resources, tools, and test-equipment in a clean and serviceable state. Ensure timely maintenance is carried out.
  • Tools and resources include but are not limited to; vehicles, drones, fuel, fuel-transfer pumps, fuel-transfer tanks, satellite phones, battery testers, earth-resistance testers etc.

 

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete any other assigned tasks within the stipulated time.
  • Adhere to company HSE (healthy, safety and environment) rules.
  • Provide input to the annual CAPEX and OPEX planning exercise.
  • Any other duties within the scope of the job periodically assigned by manager

Academic qualifications and experience required for job:

  • High School Diploma
  • At least two (2) years’ experience with general administrative duties including inventory
  • Familiarity with telecoms environment is an asset
  • Valid Driver’s license

  • Excellent communicator both verbally and through clear documentation
  • Team player - able to establish good working relationships with the wider team
