Job Title
Radio Frequency and Transmission Engineer
Primary objective of the job:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer specializing in Microwave Transmission to join our operational team. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of RF and Microwave Transmission technologies and will contribute significantly to the deployment, optimisation, and maintenance of our wireless networks.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement RF network systems, including microwave transmission links, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify new opportunities to optimise the transmission costs incurred by the company.
- Identify new opportunities to optimize the transmission costs incurred by the company, in developing new sites and sites to expand coverage.
- Conduct predictive RF coverage and capacity planning using appropriate tools and software.
- Perform system optimisation and troubleshooting to maximize network performance.
- Evaluate, recommend, and integrate new technologies into existing network systems.
- Define new sites based on coverage requirements of Sales, Marketing and/or network optimization.
- Liaise with vendors, negotiate equipment purchases, and oversee the installation and integration of new systems.
- Coordinate and perform maintenance operations while minimizing impact on network services.
- Develop and implement testing procedures to ensure system performance.
- Comply with all relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Produce detailed reports and documentation of network installations, operations, and performance metrics.
- Provide training and support to junior engineers and other team members as necessary.
Academic qualifications and experience required:
- Bachelor in Telecommunications Engineering and / or Electrical and / or systems or related field
- Minimum of 7 years experience in RF engineering, with working knowledge of microwave transmission.
